Author Biography

Yi Shan, Nantong University

Yi Shan received his PhD in English and Applied Linguistics from Tongji University, China. He is currently a professor at Nantong University. His main research interests include discourse analysis with a special emphasis on politeness, impoliteness, and pragmatics, English for Specific Purposes, and research methods in linguistics. He has published extensively in Chinese and international journals, including Language Teaching and Linguistic Research, Journal of Pragmatics, Frontiers in Psychology, etc. His most recent book-length publication is A Study of the Discourse Marker in Chinese Spontaneous Speech with Ni Zhidao as a Case Study (2022, Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press).
